Enclosed by tree’s, the enchanting ‘Heiki’ sits amidst a valley of sun breaks, butterflies and kookaburra’s.
Switching off from the monotony of the city was proving more difficult this time. The first trip into nature post-lockdown wasn’t supposed to feel so confronting yet I found myself battling with familiar urges to be productive.
The effect of the last year had definitely had an impact on my ability to disconnect and disappear. Something I always managed with ease.
When we 'unyoke' and set everything down, is it supposed to be pretty and enchanting every single time? What if it's confronting and challenging and actually those moments are just as powerful in understanding your limits with self-care.
One thing that never fails to amaze me is waking up naturally to my imagination. I always said if I wrote a book it’d be written in one coffee-soaked morning.
And when that happens and this is finally all over, I know exactly where I’ll be heading with clearer intentions, a trusty scrabble board and all the ingredients to make s’mores.
